The new First 30 is a concentrate of performance, comfort and innovation, ideally designed for the new generation of sailors. It combines the pleasure of planing, exceptional maneuverability, safety and comfort of cruising – a unique blend of qualities that make it a worthy successor to the legendary Beneteau First 30 from 1977.
Discover a new category of sailboats: planing cruisers!
The pleasure of effortless gliding within everyone’s reach!
Drawing on its experience and legacy, BENETEAU is launching a new category of sailboat: the planing cruiser. It reinvents small boat sailing by combining exceptional performance with unparalleled ease of use, while offering the comfort of a fully equipped cruising sailboat.
Sailing sensations
It is difficult to find sensations comparable to the moment a sailboat begins to plan, the instant the boat takes off and is freed from the limitations of displacement. Until now, this experience required advanced sailing knowledge. However, with the new BENETEAU First 30, the pleasure of planing becomes something simple and accessible to everyone, whether you are an experienced sailor or a beginner.
The generously proportioned deck and cockpit have been designed with two objectives in mind: to optimise space to create a spacious and comfortable relaxation area, while ensuring exceptional sailing ergonomics. Two cockpit configurations are available: one for recreational sailors and one for sailors. In the cruising version, the mainsail’s crowfoot and German sheet system allow the cockpit floor to be completely cleared, while large jibs make it easier to control the mainsail.
The racing version includes a mainsail carriage with a sheet fine adjustment system, creating a comfortable maneuvering area for the crew.
Life on board
As you would expect from a BENETEAU sailboat, the First 30 has a distinctive, minimalist yet comfortable interior, offering spacious accommodation for four people in two cabins.
Among its most outstanding features we find a generous forward cabin and bunk beds in the saloon that easily rival those of its bigger brother, the First 36. The same can be said of the spacious kitchen, which includes a gas stove with cardan shaft, an optional refrigerator and a headroom of 1.85 m.
The interior also features a bathroom with a marine toilet and a myriad of innovative and ingenious solutions, such as folding magnetic doors, removable textile cabinets and a folding kitchen extension.
In short, the First 30 is a true planing cruiser that offers everything families or couples need in a “home on the water.”
