Beneteau sponsors the grand exit of the VENDÉE GLOBE 2016-2017

Antares, Gran Turismo, Flyer and Barracuda escorted the sailors from the extreme in their first miles of this legendary regatta .

The Vendée Globe is the toughest and most famous sailing race in the world . Known as the Everest of the Seas , it consists of sailing solo, non-stop and without assistance , around the world with departure and arrival in Les Sables d’Olonne .

Participants must overcome three mythical bosses :

• The Cape of Good Hope (South Africa)
• Cape Leeuwin (South Australia)
• The fearsome Cape Horn (southernmost point of South America)

The eighth edition of the Vendée Globe began in Les Sables d’Olonne on Sunday, November 6, 2016 .
